The Senior Snowflake Data Analyst plays a crucial role in leveraging the Snowflake data platform to extract meaningful insights, support decision-making processes, and optimize data-related operations. This senior-level position involves advanced data analysis, database management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective utilization of Snowflake in meeting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Interpretation:
    • Conduct advanced data analysis using Snowflake, extracting actionable insights from complex datasets.
    • Interpret and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making.
  1. Database Management:
    • Design and implement optimized Snowflake data structures, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
    • Develop and maintain efficient ETL processes to ensure the timely and accurate flow of data into and out of Snowflake.
  1. Query Optimization:
    • Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency, ensuring the best use of Snowflake's capabilities.
    • Collaborate with database administrators and developers to fine-tune database performance.
  1. Data Governance and Security:
    • Implement and enforce data governance policies within Snowflake to maintain data integrity and security.
    • Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  1. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
    • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
    • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on the use of Snowflake for various analytical purposes.
  1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
    • Generate regular reports on data usage, performance, and system health.
  1. Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, data flows, and ETL processes within Snowflake.
    • Develop and update documentation for data standards and best practices.
  1. Training and Mentoring:
    • Provide training and mentorship to junior data analysts or other team members on Snowflake best practices and advanced analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst with a focus on Snowflake data platform.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake-specific SQL syntax.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Snowflake Certification.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their integration with Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and schema design.
